Summer Horsemanship Program

The SHF Summer Horsemanship Program is open to boys and girls of all riding levels, ages 6 through 14 that are currently enrolled in our weekly riding lesson program.

​

Each week riders will be introduced to a variety of horsemanship and horse care that they may not ordinarily learn in a regular lesson program.  Every session will focus on essentials such as safety, grooming, leading, handling, basic veterinary and equipment care, as well as mounted instruction.  Riders will enjoy afternoons of "horsey" arts and crafts, games on and off horses, mini shows, and more fun surprises!

2020 Summer Horsemanship Program

 

Dates:

Rates:

Full Day, 9:00am-3:00pm : $400

Half Day, 9:00am-12:00pm : $350

Daily: $90

​

Attire

1.  Each rider must wear close fitting pants, such as riding breeches, jeans or leggings.

2. Each rider must wear hard soled shoes with a heel.  NO SNEAKERS. 

3. Each rider will be required to wear a well fitting ASTM approved helmet. (We have a limited number of helmets for students to borrow.)

 

What to Bring

A change of clothes for afternoon activities recommended. 

Bagged lunch & water bottle. We have a refrigerator and microwave available.

Sessions are limited to 10 riders and fill very quickly. Summer Horsemanship Program deposits are not refundable or transferable. Please complete the application and release form - mail to address below, along with a $50 deposit. Applications will not be accepted with out a deposit check.  Balance must be paid before the first day of the program.
